Is Audi e-tron the next Rival of Tesla ?

It all started from 2009 when we saw Audi e-tron as a concept car in Frankfurt, Germany and since then Audi showcased many more of the e-tron concept cars. But finally, the Audi e-tron is out here and this time it's a production car which we people can buy.
You might have already seen it in the most popular Blockbuster movie of this year. Yes, I am talking about " Avengers- Endgame" in which we saw Tony Stark driving a futuristic car which was the Audi e-tron GT.  Since its arrival, the e-tron has gained a huge popularity in public and now it is being considered as the next Rival to Tesla.  So, let's start the "compare mode" and reveal the answer to this question.

So, we are gonna take the Tesla model X for this comparison which is an SUV like e-tron.
Firstly, we are gonna talk about the design which is hard to compare because both the cars have a simplistic and clean exterior design which looks beautiful. But, if we see the rear then the e-tron looks too cool with those sleek tail lights with a LED strip connecting them.
 While Tesla has a little old fashioned look in the rear. But still Tesla has got a long Panoramic roof which gives you freedom to see the sky above you. So, both these cars have a competitive exterior design.

Now, if we look at the interior of these cars then you may find the Audi style look in the e-tron with lots of buttons everywhere and displays to access various features.
 While I we take a look at Tesla then you may find a clean & simple look in the interior too with just a large 17 inch touchscreen display in the centre which gives you access to various features and the Easter eggs hidden in it and just a few buttons. So, tesla really deserves appreciation for this great simplicity they have maintained everywhere.

Next is the specs, so let's start with Audi again. So, the e-tron has got 402hp/ 300kW Electric motor with 355 Nm of toque which you can increase upto 664 Nm with the new boost technology. Also, audi has added a liquid cooling system to maintain the temperature and ensure consistent performance. So, Audi has added some new techs in it. While the Model X has got a 503 HP/ 375kW combined power with a massive 967Nm of torque.
 If we compare the 0-60 mph timing then the e-tron takes 5.5 seconds while the model X attains that in a superb 3.1 seconds. So, tesla clearly beats it here. Also, tesla has got he least drag coefficient of 0.25 which helps it achieve this thing.
If we compare the top speed then it is 124 mph in the e-tron while you get a 155mph top speed in tesla which is software limited by the company itself.So, Tesla is much quicker and powerful car despite being an SUV.
Power also reminds me of the towing capacity which is 4000 lbs in e-tron while in tesla it's a 1000 lbs more than the e-tron. So, there's a big difference but if we compare their power then it seems a bit fair.

Now, let's see about the battery capacity and range of the cars. So, Audi has got a 95 kWh battery with a 204 miles of range. With fast charging you get 54 miles of range with a 10 minute charge and you get a home charging capsule which can fully charge in 9 hours. Also, e-tron owners will get a 1000kWh of charging to use at Electrify America fast charging stations within first 4 years of ownership. So, Audi is trying to give some good offers along the way.
Now, if we see Model X, so it has got a 100kWh battery with 95kWh usable battery and a freaking range of 325 miles. With the help of the supercharger, you can get a 115 miles of range in just 15 minutes. Also, there are 14000+ supercharger locations where you can charge for FREE and you get some more charging options in addition. So, I gotta say that Tesla has already won this race but we still got some more to compare.

So, now let's jump on too some basic comparisons starting with the dimensions of the cars. In this case Tesla is slightly bigger than the e-tron.
 If we compare the seating capacity then the e-tron is a 5 seater car while in Tesla you can have the car with different combinations like a 5, 6 or 7. seater. So, Tesla is good for big families too but you may find the last two seats little troublesome because of the tight legroom which makes it uncomfortable for an adult.

Then, comes the boot capacity which is of 807 litres in Audi which you can increase upto 1614 litres by folding the rear seats.
While in Model X you get a 187 litre boot in the front. But, don't get discouraged by this because you can fold down the rear seats and there's an impressive 2180 litres of space. Also, you will still have 5 seats left after that. So you can see that the Model X is rocking in everything.

Atlast, let's see there prices. So, the Audi e-tron starts at $74,800 while the Tesla Model X starts at $82,200. So, you gotta pay some extra bucks for the Model X but I'll say that it's worth it and on comparing these both cars you know that Tesla is the clear winner here. But, I gotta say that the Audi e-tron is neither bad. It's a good start that Audi has made.
